Learning stuff

I love libraries.
I’m working on my yearlong journey book, and came to my time in Kirkwall, an Orkney Island, off of Scotland. The library in Kirkwall had a saying on the window, “Use Libraries and Learn Stuff”. Simple, but packed with wisdom. I spent some time in that library.
And then, yesterday, I got acquainted with the little Aromas Library and checked out some DVD’s and a book. The book, “The Man who Made Lists” by Joshua Kendall is about Peter Mark Roget. He created the Thesaurus, and that book right now sits next to me on my desk. It was a gift from my mother back in 1958.
I learned right away, from The Man who Made Lists, that thesaurus is a Latin word meaning treasure or treasury.
There, thanks to the library, I learned stuff.
